Winterize Your World Wednesday: Let's Get Heartwarming Published on February 09, 2016 On February 2nd, our favorite groundhog forecasted an early spring – and, for that, we are very relieved! Seriously, Phil, thanks a lot! But despite what the weather is like outside – whether your furnace needs a tune-up because your heating unit is working overtime, or you’ve already turned on the air conditioning a few afternoons – Valentine’s Day is coming, and there are important people that you’d like to recognize with something a little special. But remember, just because it’s that special day doesn’t mean it has to be expensive! Some of our favorite bloggers Ashley and Jamin Mills at The Handmade Home have brought you 14 free printable Valentine’s, plus a couple examples of low-cost and no-cost gifts to go with them. (Think swirly-colored hearts made from melting leftover crayons.) You can borrow their ideas here. (They’re okay with it!) We’ve decided one of their sweetest ideas is this recipe for stunning stained glass heart cookies. They are wonderful to slip into the children’s lunch boxes, to share with the neighbors after school, to take to a gift exchange, or as a present for someone of any age – anyone who has a special place in your heart! You just need eight easy ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry, plus two heart-shaped cookie cutters (one larger than the other). The secret ingredient is Jolly Rancher candies in red or pink, crushed into little pieces. Even with the special ingredient, these unique sweets won’t take any additional time to make than any regular, decorated sugar cookie.Find the recipe and step-by-step instructions here. Happy Valentine’s Day, and thank you for being part of the Service Experts family!
