What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Mountainwest Service Experts is here with a couple of the most usual A/C problems in Salt Lake City.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you could need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your system is actually cool. Call Mountainwest Service Experts and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it simply burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity can cause more condensation so a second issue to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is blocked. If you can confirm these matters, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Mountainwest Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, inspect the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause significant cooling issues. Another thing that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Mountainwest Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of multiple things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be good to go. Note that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your trouble, whatever AC trouble you run into, Mountainwest Service Experts is here for you all day, every day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
