We are constantly willing to help, but we urge these four simple tips to review your furnace before giving us a call:
- Thermostat setting – The most essential task of a furnace is to establish a comfy and cozy climate for your home. So when outside cools off for good, make sure you’ve turned your thermostat over to ‘heat.’
- Furnace switch – Your furnace power is moderated by a switch that looks like a traditional light switch, and should be turned on. If it’s not on, flip it on and sit a few minutes. Many furnaces have a built-in time delay and your furnace won’t turn on instantly after turning on the switch.
- Filter – Furnace filters are an essential part to your system. Not only does it filter out particles, dust and other contaminants, it impacts your furnace’s talent as well. We recommend changing out filters every three months to notice the finest results.
- Circuit breaker – It’s normal that the breaker labled for your furnace has been tripped. Go to your circuit breaker panel and search to see if the switch has been tripped. If it has, cycle it by turning it off and then back on. You may have to wait a few minutes for the time-delay to go by before your furnace kicks back on. If you do this and your furnace still isn’t running, give us a call and we can help figure out what is going on with your furnace so we can get it back up and running.
